Early Action Freshman Admission
If Mount St. Mary’s is one of your top choices, you can apply early. Submit all application materials, including your high school transcript and SAT results through your junior year, by December 1. The Admissions Committee will tell you its decision by Christmas. This early notification plan is nonbinding.

The Cardinal Newman Society
The Cardinal Newman Society recommends Mount St. Mary’s University as a top college in their 2009 edition of Choosing a Catholic College. The guide based its recommendations on how well the Mount “embraces the Catholic mission in all facets of campus life.”

Typical Accepted Student Profile
Our typical accepted student has a GPA of 3.0 to 3.5—or a B/B+ average with an SAT score (math and critical reading sections only) of 1000-1200. ACT score of 22-26. We strongly consider involvement in extracurricular activities—particularly leadership roles.

How to apply

  1. Have your high school send a complete secondary school record and recommendation directly to the Admissions Office.
  2. Request that the results of the SAT or the ACT be sent to Mount St. Mary’s. The university’s CEEB number is 5421; the ACT number is 1726.

Application Deadlines

Regular freshman admission: Apply as early as possible during your senior year and no later than March 1. Admissions decisions are made on a rolling basis. Applications received after March 1 are considered on a space-available basis.
